Are my raffle tickets Tax Deductible?

No – raffle tickets are not able to be claimed as a tax deduction.  In accordance with Australian Tax Office guidelines, as you receive a ticket with the chance to win a prize in return for your transaction, this is not a donation and therefore your purchase can’t be claimed as a tax deduction.
 

Who can enter the Raffle for a Cause Raffle?

 Rally for a Cause is a QLD based charity and holds Raffle for a Cause 2023/24 licences/permits in the following states: -

QLD - 225496

NSW – GOCAU/2530

VIC – 10416/23

SA – M14500

ACT – ACT R 23/00203

NT - FNL1008

TAS - Rally for a Cause is not required to hold a permit for a QLD based on-line raffle in the state of Tasmania.  This does not restrict Tasmanian residents from entering the draw.

Rally for a Cause is unable to undertake marketing activities in States where we do not hold a licence/permit, but under QLD regulations there is no restriction applied to the sale of tickets to persons who reside in another State or Territory.

Entries are open to Australian residents aged 18 years of age or older but excludes members of the Rally for a Cause Ltd. board, employees and their immediate family.

Only tickets purchased through the raffleforacause.org.au website are considered valid entries in the draw. 

 

Can I choose my own ticket numbers?

No, unfortunately not – ticket numbers are automatically allocated in sequential order at the time of purchase.  But remember - every ticket number has an equal chance of winning!

 

Can I purchase tickets as a gift?

Tickets may be purchased for another person as a gift, by way of completing the gift recipients’ personal details at the time of the ticket purchase.  It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure gift ticket recipients are eligible under all applicable laws to accept the prizes offered of the raffle. Despite whom purchases the ticket, the name of the person on the ticket number drawn will be considered the “Winner” of the prize.

 

How do I receive my tickets?

One you have completed your ticket purchase and the payment transaction has been verified, you will receive a “Ticket Order Received” confirmation email with all your receipt details.  ATTACHED as a PDF to this email is your TICKET (or multiple tickets if more than 1 ticket is purchased).  This ticket attachment has all of your ticket details, including your TICKET NUMBER that will be entered into the draw.  (Please don’t confuse your Order Number on the email with your Ticket Number on the ticket attachment).

If you don’t receive your ticket order confirmation and attached tickets within 10 minutes, check your Spam or Junk Mail folders as the email may have landed there.  
If you are confident that you have not received your ticket via email, please contact us and we can resend it to you -  Email admin@rallyforacause.org.au or  Phone 0439 049 798.
If you have lost or accidentally deleted your tickets - don’t worry, we have all of your details on record! We can resend these to you if needed but, if you have the winning ticket number we will still contact you even if you cannot locate your tickets.  Be sure to keep your contact details updated!

 

How will I know if I’m a winner?

Winners will be notified by telephone immediately following the draw and confirmed via email within two (2) business days of the draw.

Once the prize winners have been contacted, the draw video and results will be published on the www.raffleforacause.org.au website.

The draw results will also be published in The Australian newspaper the week following the draw (the publication dates are on the Raffle Terms and Conditions).

How will I collect my prize?

Vehicle prize winners - We will require your details to complete the vehicle ownership transfer and registration and then arrange a date and time with you for hand-over. Prize cars are required to be picked up from our location in SE QLD.   Winners can choose to have the prize delivered to a different location, but this will be at their own expense.

 

Cash or Gift Card winners – Cash prizes are paid within 14 business days of the draw, by means of a crossed cheque payable to the Winner in Australian Dollars to be delivered by registered mail, or if the Winner so requests in writing, by means of electronic transfer of funds to any nominated account.   Coles Group & Myer Gift Cards will be delivered within 14 business days of the draw, by registered mail. 

 

How do I know this isn’t a scam?

Rally for a Cause Ltd is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, the national regulator of charities - ACNC Website - Rally for a Cause.  We also provide all our raffle licences and permit details that hold us liable and ensure we abide by all the legal terms and conditions of the raffle and that we do indeed give away the prizes as advertised to entrants of the raffle.
